Are you waiting on God or is God waiting on You?

Sitting, pondering what is next?  Am I still in a waiting season or should I move?  Then I came across this podcast, and the question that was posed was “Are you waiting on God, or is God waiting on you?”

Now God has given me dreams, I can see them, I can feel them. I know He is calling me deeper, but I am not moving. DISCLAIMER! Sometimes we are in a waiting season (see previous post “ The Waiting Room”) and therefore need to wait on God. So please pray for clarity. But if that is not the case, why are we not moving? Do I dare say it? A pesky four-letter word called FEARFalse Evidence Appearing Real.  The thoughts that race through my head.  Are you qualified?  Are you capable? Would anyone listen to you? What if you fail? Do you have enough money to finance it?  What if you look dumb?  What would others think? Sounds familiar?

If only we could silence those thoughts and concentrate on the talents God gave us.  If we would just trust Him more, I wonder what our life would look like.  God gave each of us a talent(Matt 25: 14-30)  Some we knew from the beginning. Other times we discover that we have a knack for it by chance ( well I believe God gives us a push lol).  So what do we do with them?

Most of us shelf them in a box, with the fear swirling around in our head until it’s too late and then we wonder what life would have been like if we had just followed it.  Others give it a try and at the first sign of failure give up.   But that pesky thing called fear, we have to surrender to God. Sometimes every hour on the hour and do what He calls us to do.  It doesn’t matter if you don’t have all the plans in place, all God needs is your YES.

FEAR can be so crippling and debilitating.  God knew so well how it could stop us from pursuing the life He had for us, that He placed  “Fear Not’ or a variation of it, in the bible almost 365 times. One for each and every day.  The reason I believe that when the angels visited with a message they always said:” Fear Not” first before delivering it.

It is because He knew how destructive fear could be, how it could keep us from reaching our destiny.  And to think that most of the things we fear never even happen or even if they did, our God is bigger and stands outside of time. He is in charge of this world and everything, including what we fear, must come under His subjection if we surrender it to Him.

Additionally, the opposite of FEAR is FAITH-, Fully And Inevitably Trusting Him, and FEAR and FAITH cannot reside in the same place, they are polar opposites. So some re-couragement for you today.  If God gave you a word, it doesn’t matter what it looks like, it doesn’t matter what others say, or even how many people are doing the same thing. It doesn’t matter how big the task seems, how much money you have, not even how you feel.  All you have is all you need. Take Him at His word.  His promises are true and according to 2 Corinthians 1: 20 Yes and Amen.  So for those waiting on a sign, here it is….

MOVE!
