Are You Anointed and Appointed?

posted in: Re-Couragement | 5

I sat in my car listening and dancing to the song I am anointed.  The words rang so powerfully “I am anointed and appointed. To put the enemy under my feet.  Going forward no more retreat I’m raging war on the enemy, taking back what was stolen from me, I’m anointed and appointed, I’m a mighty warrior in God’s army”.

I felt like I could conquer the world, but then a feeling of fear hit me.  Then questions started to flood my mind, not even giving me a chance to find an answer. How can I wage war on the enemy? Am I really geared up for this? Suppose he tramples me?  I have already been through too much; can I take that risk?  Who are you to be talking about waging war? But boy am I thankful to God for the Holy Spirit.  He began to download two revelations to me.

First Revelation

If you don’t have a relationship with God, stay out of the enemy’s camp.  In Acts 19 vs 13-20, a group of Jews were attempting to cast out some evil spirits using the name of Jesus.  However, the spirit answered them saying “I know Jesus, and I know Paul, but who are you?” Then the man with the evil spirit leaped on them, overpowered them, and attacked them with such violence that they fled from the house, naked and battered.  These men had no authority, no anointing, or no relationship with God to be using His name to cast out any spirits.  So, if you can’t safely say you have a relationship with God, find a different song, stay out of the enemy’s camp and seek a relationship with Jesus.

Second Revelation

However, for those who have a relationship with God, His anointed and appointed ones. Jesus said in Luke 19:10 “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”  So I ask you a question. Are you walking in that authority?

We as Christian have become weak, complacent and timid.  Instead of us waging war on the enemy, he is having a field day walking all over us.  We might not feel fear from singing the song, because when we hear it, we may jump and shout or dance and sing.  Then, instead of leaving that praise atmosphere with a posture of no retreat, no surrender, we hold our white flags up allowing him to wreak havoc on us.

Ephesians 6:13 tells us to “Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm”.  The chapter further describes the layers of pieces to put on and how to use them.  I am thankful for my now departed aunt who made sure we knew this scripture and learned how to gear up.

This is the moment for us to declare no more, I am taking back all the enemy stole from me.  Not just by jumping up and singing a song but from a place of no defeat.  Yes, we should praise, but let us do it from a heart posture that sold out to Jesus.  Then and only then can we have the authority we need. The authority to walk into the enemy’s camp and declare all-out war.

Re-Couragement

This is not all easy, it takes being surrendered to God.  Trust that while writing this piece I had to silence all the fears in my head warning me of the backlash the enemy may send my way. And trust that he tried it.  But I want you to declare like me, even if you have to do it afraid.  Enemy, you have NO authority over meI am a child of a King.  God has given me the authority to trample on you.  I will not be defeated; I will not surrender.  I am waging war on the enemy.

I am more than a conqueror in Christ Jesus! I am not defeated because I am child of the champion of champions who never lost a battle and never will. Glory be to God. The enemy is under my feet!
