More than Enough

I was in the shower one morning and the water pressure decided at that time to be really low.  As I began to wash the soap off, the water pressure became lower and lower and lower.  I was tempted to vent my frustration as it was making me late.  But in that moment, I felt the Holy Spirit say, I am more than enough.

Now my logical brain was like what does that have to do with the water.   Anyways, I took my time washing myself with every little drop and pondered on what God meant.  As fate would have it, even though I took much longer, and the pressure kept getting lower, the water was indeed more than enough.  In that moment God revealed, you are constantly focusing on what you don’t have and what is being stripped away. Forgetting that I AM more than enough.

As the week progressed He continued to flesh this revelation out with two scriptures .  The first one He placed in my heart was Proverbs 3: 5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take”.

The second scripture was Matthew 6:28-30And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?”

Re-Couragement

As God continue to flesh out this revelation it became clearer why he used that simple illustration of water. It was to show me that even though times may be hard and things may be dwindling, He is all that you need.  He is the living water (see John 4), and when you place your trust in Him, He will more than enough.  More than enough for you spiritually and emotionally. More than enough for you physically and financially.  He will be everything you need and more.  When God told Moses before he went to free the Israelites that it was I AM that was sending him.  He was in essence saying, you don’t know what you need yet, but I AM everything you could ever need. What you know you need now and what you don’t know you need yet. I AM.

Who or what are you placing trust in today? Any answer other than the Father, Son or the Holy Spirit is setting you up for failure. I am here to remind you that the only solid foundation is Jesus. If you trust Him, then your attitude and outlook, should not display one of worry, doubt and despair.  But it should be one of hope, faith and security in the one that is More than enough.  I encourage you to pause right now and bring everything to God and allow Him to show you that He is indeed More Than Enough. Yes, Jesus is More Than Enough. We limit Him so much, we don’t realize He is constantly looking out for us. Thanks again for lifting me up by your inspiring words of encouragement.
